About the Director

Shirley Bruno is an Haitian-American director who holds an MA with Distinction from London Film School and an MFA with Mention from Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains. She lives alternately between Paris, New York, and Haiti. Her films draw heavily from her heritageboth preserving and radicalizing her ancestral traditions and mythology. Shirley is the current laureate for the StudioPrix Collector, the annually awarded French prize created by esteemed video art collectors Isabelle and John-Conrad Lemaître. Her previous short, Tezen, screened at Third Horizon in 2017.
